Sonic Club invites you to a listening session with Basam Elfadl, who will share selections from his family’s cassette archive of Sudanese music, spanning the 1980s to the 2000s. These songs — carrying stories of family, home, and love — take us on a sonic journey along the Nile. Afterwards there will be a Q&A.

Basam is a Sudanese living between two distant homes. For him, home and homesickness are equivalent sentiments: joy and sorrow woven together.

The Sonic Club listening sessions are a relaxed event where we are inviting DJs, music collectors, musicians, label owners and music lovers to share with us some of their collection - records, CDs, cassettes, digital music and, if they wish, give some background on the music that shaped and influenced them.
